Fearless Rebirth

March 14, 2025

A Poem by Abdullatif Khalid Eberhard Do you still doubt me, You may write me down in your tale, With your cruel, twisted deceit, You may crush me into the ground, But still, like dust, I’ll soar. I’m a woman, I'm more than you think. Do you still doubt me, Does my boldness bother you? Why does sadness cloud your face? I walk as if I own the riches Flowing beneath my feet. I’m a woman, I'm more than you think. Do you still doubt me, Just like the moon and the sun, With the assurance of the sea, Like dreams soaring higher, Still, I’ll ascend. I’m a woman, I'm more than you think. Do you still doubt me, Did you hope to see me fall? With my head hung low and my spirit weak? My shoulders sinking like a river’s tears, Weakened by sorrow’s grasp? I’m a woman, I'm more than you think. Do you still doubt me, Does my pride strike you wrong? Don’t let it weigh so heavily, For I laugh as though I own treasures Hidden deep within my world. I’m a woman, I'm more than you think. Do you still doubt me, You may wound me with your words, You may gaze at me with scorn, You may try to smother me with your hatred, But still, like air, I’ll soar. I’m a woman, I'm more than you think. Do you still doubt me, Does my allure disturb you? Is it a shock to see That I move like jewels glittering In the rhythm of my every step? I’m a woman, I'm more than you think. Do you still doubt me, From the depths of history’s shame, I ascend, From a past steeped in anguish, I soar, I am a vast ocean, swelling wide, Carrying the tide within my soul. I’m a woman, I'm more than you think. Do you still doubt me, Leaving behind the nights of dread, I soar, Into the morning that’s clear and bright, I ascend, Bringing with me the legacy of those before, I am the dream, the hope, of the oppressed. I soar, I ascend, I soar. I’m a woman, I'm more than you think.
