Youth and creative artists possess unparalleled potential to articulate innovative solutions and communicate complex issues to the public, thus shaping informed dialogue and policy outcomes.
Objective
To empower and inspire African youth across different age groups to creatively explore and propose innovative solutions to Africa's key economic and governance challenges through artistic expressions.
Youth Financing for Development Academy
The Youth Financing for Development Academy (YFfD Academy) is a flagship capacity-building and leadership development initiative designed to equip young people with critical knowledge, skills, and practical tools to engage meaningfully in financing for development (FfD) processes at national, regional, and global levels. The Academy responds to the growing recognition that young people are key stakeholders in shaping equitable, sustainable, and just financing systems, yet remain underrepresented in fiscal, tax, debt, and global economic governance spaces. Through a blended learning and action-oriented approach, the YFfD Academy bridges this gap.
Vision
A generation of informed, empowered, and organized young leaders actively shaping fair, inclusive, and sustainable financing for development systems.
Mission
To build youth capacity, leadership, and collective action on financing for development, tax justice, and global economic governance through learning, advocacy, and policy engagement.
Who the Academy Is For
The YFfD Academy targets:
- Young policy advocates and activists
- Civil society practitioners and youth-led organizations
- Early-career professionals in development, economics, and public policy
- Student leaders and researchers
- Journalists, communicators, and content creators interested in economic justice
